Northampton CLP nominates Corbyn

Last week Northampton Labour Party had a meeting to agree who they would like to see as Leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn or Owen Smith.
Rufia Ashraf, Chair of Northampton Labour Party, said:
"Local members wanted this meeting and last week we officially nominated and endorsed Jeremy Corbyn for Labour Leader. Many other CLPs across the UK have nominated the same way as us, such as South Northamptonshire and Wellingborough.
This is the expressed view of those Labour Party members who turned up. Jeremy Corbyn got 72 votes and Owen Smith got 13 votes. Nominations by a local Labour Party have no direct impact on the eventual result. The end result, which is expected to be announced on 24th September, is of individual members who will be voting in the next few weeks or so."
