My Speech on Hate Crime

This is the speech I made last night about Hate Crime.

Thank Your Mayor,

I am happy to second this motion. Since the referendum there has been much speculation about the future of EU nationals living in this country and British nationals living abroad. Nationally it has been reported that there has been an increase in reported Hate Crime. Various local authorities across the country have taken the step to condemn the reported increase in racism and xenophobia. This Council also needs to take a stance and say people of all nationalities and faiths are welcome in our town.

We I live I have a few neighbours where from the European Union and they have suffered some racial abuse at work. This was unacceptable. This referendum has given them these people a tool to shout this abuse. This Council needs to do what it can to take a hardline on this.
