Regular sites of flytipping “hotspots” are growing at an alarming rate. There appears to be no adequate answer or new initiative from the Tory Council to answer the problem. Flytipping as we know and none so much as those that suffer these selfish acts of vandalism, undermine an area’s attractiveness, decreasing property prices, increasing vermin numbers and creating a smelly unsightly mess.
Are hotspot flytipping dumps an answer to inadequate regular rubbish collections or done by selfish people not giving tuppence about where their rubbish goes? If the problem is caused by a need for more rubbish collections then one answer could be Eurobins, large mobile containers. The council unfortunately do not think these are suitable for many areas - these areas include where there are no flats, for example. So the problem goes on.
However, if the former then why should decent people suffer these selfish acts. Flytipping dumps have to be identified before action can be taken which is the only option given to me by the council after my many recent enquiries about flytipping. Perhaps one way would be by CCTV coverage whether by the Council or providing tenants or private owners with equipment to enable flytippers to be reported anonymously.
