A Cleaner Northampton

Dear Editor,

It is very good news that the Borough Council are going to be putting more resources into the enforcement of law around littering and dog fouling.

Both issues are huge environmental issues for the town. Ward Councillors spend a great deal of time chasing up services to clear our streets. Now we need the borough to take a stronger line on fly tipping and all the sacks of rubbish that are left out all week. Can the council now look at how to tackle fly tipping issues more seriously, and take appropriate action to repeated offenders? You never know.  In time we might stop being the dirty town of the county and become a clean, safe and green town where the signs Welcome to Northampton mean what they say.
